NILE was faced with the task of replacing a complex IT landscape with numerous in-house developments. The goal was a modern, scalable system architecture with fewer interfaces and better controllability that can be used across channels and internationally.

Mit Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations und der Branchenlösung IN:FASHION schuf NILE eine zentrale Plattform für alle Prozesse – von Retail über E-Commerce bis hin zur Lagerlogistik. Die Einführung erfolgte in zwei agilen Projektphasen gemeinsam mit SPH.

About NILE

Nile Clothing AG is a Swiss fashion company with a strong market presence in Germany and Switzerland, a stable store and e-commerce business and around 200 employees. Since 1983, NILE has stood for quality, design and reliability – and is now setting the course for the digital future with its new IT platform.

Challenge

Due to a rapidly growing IT structure based on in-house developments and many parallel solutions, NILE was increasingly restricted in the management and further development of its processes. The complexity was high, the interfaces numerous and a uniform view of the overall business hardly possible. At the same time, international markets, new sales channels and growing data volumes were placing ever greater demands on the digital infrastructure. NILE therefore decided to fundamentally renew its system landscape: it needed to be scalable, consistent and future-proof.

Solution

The choice fell on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations in conjunction with IN:FASHION, an integrated industry solution tailored specifically to the fashion and retail sector. The aim was to bring together all channels – retail, wholesale and e-commerce – in one system and create a standardized, internationally controllable solution. The implementation was carried out in two clearly defined phases: First, the finance module successfully went live. By using SPH AG’s agile SPIM method, the project was implemented in a flexible, structured and transparent manner. The Commerce Scale Unit ensured that all webshop data – from stock and prices to product information – could be mapped in the ERP in real time. SPH AG also supported the POS setup and the integration of mobile devices as well as the development of specific applications with Microsoft PowerApps, including for customer loyalty programs.

Result

Immediately after the go-live, NILE benefited from the centralized system landscape and the improved data situation. Process management became more efficient, decision-making paths shorter and controlling much more precise. By using the Power Platform itself, the team was able to independently develop analysis tools and dashboards, for example for in-store performance or the evaluation of customs tariffs. Customer card registration was also digitized. In combination with the competent support from the SPH Service Center, a solution was created that is stable today and is also equipped for further growth. The project was also particularly successful thanks to the active involvement of the management and key users, who were open and committed to the transformation process.

& outlook

The partnership between NILE and SPH AG was characterized by openness, solution orientation and genuine trust. The close cooperation and consistent use of the IN:FASHION standard has resulted in an IT solution from which NILE benefits both technologically and organizationally. The company is now able to react more quickly to changes in the market, scale processes digitally and make targeted use of new digital potential, for example in the area of AI.
