Peter Hahn digitalises its ERP landscape with SPH AG and Microsoft.

For more than 60 years,  Peter Hahn has stood for exclusive womenswear and, as a multichannel retailer, combines mail order, brick-and-mortar stores and digital sales channels. To meet the growing demands of the industry, Peter Hahn has decided to modernise its IT infrastructure comprehensively.

The existing IT landscape could no longer keep pace with changing business models. A modern, scalable ERP platform was required to streamline processes and position the company for future growth.

Challenge

Over the years, Peter Hahn has developed its own IT solutions, which have increasingly reached their limits due to the dynamic market environment.

Every year, Peter Hahn processes around three million orders, manages 800,000 items (SKUs) and controls four million customer records. The complexity of the system landscape prevented efficient scalability.

Solution

Following an analysis of the requirements, Peter Hahn opted for a combination of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management as well as the SPH industry solutions IN:FASHION and IN:OMNICHANNEL.

Why SPH

The decision fell in favour of SPH AG because of its in-depth knowledge of the specific requirements of the fashion industry. SPH contributes proven best practices for fashion and retail, supplementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 with its own solutions IN:FASHION and IN:OMNICHANNEL. These solutions enable standardised yet flexible processes.

The agile project approach, which ensured close coordination and a high level of responsiveness to new requirements, was also a deciding factor.

Peter Hahn and SPH implemented the ERP project in two closely aligned phases:

Phase 1
Optimisation of financial processes

  • Replacement of the existing SAP finance solution
  • Introduction of automated intercompany accounting
  • More efficient invoicing and controlling processes


Phase 2
Digitalisation of retail and logistics processes

  • Introduction of IN:FASHION and IN:OMNICHANNEL
  • Integration of the webshop via the Commerce Scale Unit to ensure greater stability and performance
  • Improvement of  inventory management and optimisation of price control


Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was necessary to swiftly transition from the planned on-site workshops to a partially remote project approach. Despite this challenge, the project was successfully implemented thanks to the close collaboration of SPH and the more than 50 internal project participants.
